Chicken curry with basmati rice (Spanish style)

Receta en español aquí

A few years ago walking through the “Barrio Santa Cruz” in Seville (South of Spain),  after we getting  lost in its narrow streets all morning,  we ended up eating at a small site, that unlike most local places  didn’t offered typical meal for tourists. To our pleasant surprise they served quiches, crepes, camembert with jam and other dishes totally unknowns  for me at that time.

The camembert began to be made in the late 18th century at Camembert, a  village in Normandy,  northern France, from which it takes its name.

Sopeao

Receta en español aquí

Andalusian cold tomato soup - Gazpacho

Gazpacho - Andalusian cold tomato soup

Receta en español aquí

This cold soup is very typical in the south of Spain,  in the region of Andalusia exactly,   from where I am.

You can eat gazpacho  in a soup bowl, with diced vegetables as garnish,  or drink it. Either way, it is tasty, refreshing and very healthy, since it is made just with fresh vegetables and a bit of olive oil, salt  and vinegar.

Caprese Salad

Caprese Salad

The Caprese salad is an Italian salad originally from the island of Capri,  although it is widespread throughout Italy, in fact I think all who have traveled to Italy have tasted it.
Italians give great importance to this salad because it combines the colors of the Italian flag. A nineteenth-century poet, Francesco Dall'Ongaro, defined these colors in this so pretty way: "White as the Alps, red like volcanoes and green as the plains of Lombardy"

Nutella and hazelnut ice cream

Nutella and hazelnut ice cream

Receta en español aquí

As every year we have a heat wave here so I think it is a good time to start with ice creams ...

It is very simple to prepare and you don’t need to have an ice cream maker or invert sugar.

This ice cream is very sweet and creamy. I usually prefer chocolate ice creams less sweet, but my family love this, so here is the recipe.
